Exam description

Attaining this certification means you have rich technical skills in advanced enterprise solutions combined with IT business acumen and communication skills. It indicates that you can design complex workload solutions —from the proposal stage to live deployment— to achieve an organization’s financial and business goals.

This exam will require you to log into an environment, perform changes on that environment, and you will be scored according to your work.

Ideal candidate for this exam

The ideal candidate for this certification has seven to ten years design and implementation experience with infrastructure solutions for specific workloads to achieve customer business outcomes. This experience includes architecting server, storage, networking, and management offerings to optimize resiliency, availability, performance, and manageability of those workloads. It also includes setting up and demonstrating Proof of Concept deployments.

Advice to help you take this exam

  • Read all documentation found on the MyLearning portal (found in the registration link above) carefully. Since this exam goes through a different registration process and behaves differently than other HPE exams, the documentation will be critical to your success.
  • Complete the training and review all course materials and documents before you take the exam. The course is particularly important for this exam, as it contains a mock exam. Since this is a practical exam, familiarity with the exam environment will be extremely valuable.
  • Exam items are based on expected knowledge acquired from job experience, an expected level of industry standard knowledge, or other prerequisites (events, supplemental materials, etc.).
  • Successful completion of the course alone does not ensure you will pass the exam.

  • Understand complex workloads and their characteristics/differentiators as they relate to optimizing for performance and availability
  • Describe, contrast and differentiate compute, storage and network architectures and how to select and optimize for specific customer workloads
  • Understand business continuity including environmental factors
  • Identify key customer business, technical and system requirements and outcomes
  • Identify and collect key metrics for infrastructure and application performance
Identify and position HPE solutions and workload offerings with the alliance partner ecosystem components to the appropriate customer use case
Given a customer use case, differentiate and position HPE products for the following elements of the solution

  • Identify and use the appropriate tools to architect and configure the solution
  • Update a proposed solution based on availability, supply constraints, additional or updated requirements, and/or cost
